"As one ages, one has the feeling that time is going by more and more quickly." I often catch myself thinking about how quickly the day or week went by. Then I think to myself about how nice it would be if the hand could also turn more slowly. In general, however, I always try to structure my life in such a way that I can do everything as effectively and passionately as possible."
One could say that Sven Kueenles' path was predestined. Having grown up in a small town near Stuttgart, he stood on skis for the first time at the age of three and since then hasn't been able to get away from them. With the dream of becoming a professional skier, he participated in skiing races in his childhood and adolescent years in order to then show snowboarders that one can also become a top freestyler on two boards. One day after taking his final high school exams, Sven sat in a plane to Canada on his way to meet his idol, thoroughly delighted and excited. Now, the 34-year-old is among the best freeriders in the world and has arrived - at his best time.
Sven Kueenles does mainly one thing with time: live it. "When I do something with so much happiness and passion, then at this moment nothing else exists besides this exact moment. Only while skiing have I had such a powerful and intense experience. It is as if one were to plunge into another sphere, out of the universe, which we otherwise know, into another."
"And that is what the sport enabled for me starting at an early age:
my supreme experience of happiness, my best time."
